Proctology set in a case, which consists of (a) a sigmoidoscope tube that is made of hollow and cylindrical metal, with a round open tip and a round open end; there is a flat round piece attached perpendicularly to the end, that serves as a handle; there is a cm. scale stamped into the outside of the tube that is in increments of 5 cm, from 5 to 25; an obturator (b) fits into this tube; the obturator is made of a solid narrow cylindrical piece of metal with a large, heavy bullet-shaped tip at one end and a solid round handle at the other end; the sigmoidoscope obturator fits inside its tube, with the tip coming out of the tube's open tip and the handle fitting up against the tube's other end; also included in the proctology set is (c) a proctoscope tube; this is a hollow metal tube with an open bevelled tip and a round open end that has a slightly larger diameter than the rest of the tube; an obturator (d) fits into this tube; the obturator is made of a solid narrow cylindrical piece of metal with a large, heavy bullet-shaped tip at one end and a solid round handle at the other end; the proctoscope obturator fits inside its tube, with the tip coming out of the tube's open tip and the handle fitting up against the tube's other end; also included in the proctology set is (e) an anoscope tube; this is a hollow metal tube with an open bevelled tip and a round open end that has a slightly larger diameter than the rest of the tube; an obturator (f) fits into this tube; the obturator is made of a solid narrow cylindrical piece of metal with a
large, heavy bullet-shaped tip at one end and a solid round handle at the other end; the anoscope obturator fits inside its tube, with the tip coming out of the tube's open tip and the handle fitting against the tube's other end; there are two magnifying lenses (g,h) which fit onto the end of the sigmoidoscope tube; both of these lenses consist of very short lengths of hollow cylindrical metal tubing with a glass cover on one end and a round open end on the other end; the end with the glass cover has a larger diameter and a hatched pattern in the metal on the outside edges; all of the pieces described above (a-h) fit into a purpose-built case (i); this case is made of cloth-covered wood with a blue velvet lining on the inside; the case is rectangular in shape with a lid that is hinged at the back and has two metal clasps at the front; the inside of the case has built-in velvet-covered dividers that hold the instruments apart from each other; there are information labels on the inside lid, outside front and outside top of the case.
