Shoe-fitting fluoroscope, contained in a four-sided wooden box that tapers at the top and has a rubber-covered wooden step attached to the front; the front of the fluoroscope box has a second step and a round cut-out section, into which a foot would have been placed; the cut-away area of the fluoroscope is also hinged and lifts up to expose the inside coated square glass X-ray fluoroscope; there is a horizontal metal holding rail near the outside top and front of the machine; the very top of the fluoroscope box has three oval viewing cones that allowed the user and two others to view the foot being X-rayed; the central cone is on top of a hollow rectangular wooden attachment; the right side of the fluoroscope box has a round push-in button; the back of the fluoroscope box has a metal on/off switch and three round adjustment knobs as well as a plug-in electric cord.

The front and back of the fluoroscope box have lettering which reads, "SAFETY APPROVED // X-RAY // NO // SMOKING"; a warning label at the top front reads, "WARNING // EXCESSIVE EXPOSURE TO X-RAY IS HARMFUL // SHOE FITTINGS SHOULD BE LIMITED TO 3 PER // DAY, AND NOT MORE THAN 12 PER YEAR. // SHOES MUST BE WORN ON BOTH FEET DURING // A FITTING. CUSTOMERS MUST NOT OPERATE // THIS MACHINE." three manufacturer's metal labels on the front read, "Regd. Nos. 709638-39-40 // Pat. No. 248085 / 24"; "THE PEDOSCOPE COMPANY // 118-120 HOLBORN // LONDON E.C.1" and "H.E.P.C. APP No. 5660 // VOLTS 110 PERIOD 60 // AMPS 4.5 WATTS 350"
