Provenance
The doll was used by the donor to demonstrate basic nursing skills to students in the Health Care Aid Programme at Sheriden College in Oakville, ON. from 1991 to 1996; the doll was obtained from a friend of the donor's whose daughter no longer wanted it and was probably made in the 1960s; the doll was used because the usual teaching aid, a Mary-Ellen Chase doll, was not available for use in the Health Care Aid programme and because she was portable; the two gowns were made specially for the doll in order to demonstrate the skills required when giving a bed bath.
