Hypodermic syringe set consisting of a metal case (a) which is hinged at the back; lid has a hinged compartment containing four full hypodermic vials of medicine: strychnine sulphate (g), ergotinine citrate (h), digitalin (i) and atropine sulphate (j); compartment can be opened to stand perpendicular to lid of case and also contains two compartments for needles, which are missing; base of case contains glass barrel (b), plunger (c) with removable metal ring (e) for pulling barrel, a glass tip for the syringe (d) and a thin hollow metal shaft (f).

Dr. Rob Roy MacGregor (1873-1970) graduated from Queen's Medical School in 1916. He served in World War I with the RCAMC and later became Kingston's first paediatrician; he was Chief of the Department of Paediatrics at Kingston General Hospital from 1929 to 1956.
