Set of silver metal dental instruments; brown rectangular paper box (b) and lid (a) covered in white paper; product and manufacturer's information printed with blue and black ink on top and sides of lid; box has black paper insert in bottom with raised grooves to hold instruments; blue felt affixed to top and bottom of insert, continues up to cover instruments; all instruments have octagonal handles engraved with concentric circles for grip; Ash double-end cutting instrument (c) with tips that curve slightly at an angle, then bend at a 90-degree angle, ending in flat rectangle with ridges on one side; Ash chisel (d) with smooth flat end; handle tapers at top to curved tip with sharp, angled end; Ubeco double-end excavators (e, f) with tips that curve in a semi-circle with circular spoons on ends; S.S. White scalers (g, h) with flat, smooth ends; handle tapers to tip, which curves in a semi-circle before ending with a square, flat tip

Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; the box for the set is from Claudius Ash, as well as two instruments inside; there are also two instruments from Ubeco and two from S.S. White, both American companies
