Research Facts
Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; this item was donated by Dr. David Waller from Prince George, British Columbia; it belonged to his father, Dr. Denning Edward Waller (1923-1997); Dr. D. E. Waller was raised in Vancouver before becoming an RAF pilot during WWII; he attended the University of Washington Dental School from 1949-1953, and practiced in Prince George, BC until his death; he was president of the BC Dental Association from 1966-67 and president of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC from 1973-74; he most likely received the articulator as a student, since House articulators were used by some dental schools; the rotary occlusal grinder on top of the articulator was part of the original design patented in 1927 by Dr. Milus M. House, while the articulator as a whole is a later design
