Research Facts
Dr. Roy M. Sarles worked at Lackawanna Steel Mill Hospital, Buffalo, New York in 1928, in Michigan from 1930-1935, and in Wellington, Ontario from 1935-1953.
The prescription bottle had to have been custom-ordered by the Harris Drugs business of North Bay, Ontario. The paper label on the back of the bottle is from the Picton Medical Centre which suggests that the bottle was reused in Picton when it originally must have been acquired in North Bay.
. Reg Harris purchased the drug store in North Bay in 1933; the name changed to Harris Drug Store, and a Harris Gaurdian Drug Store is still in operation today (2017).
The address 332 Main Street, Picton Ontario is called Shire Hall and is still the original building that was built in 1873 with an addition done in 1982 and houses the County administration offices for Prince Edward County.
