Three-piece needle holder, which consists of a plier-like instrument that is made of two joined halves; the handles (a,b) flare out slightly from the joint and curve at a 90 deg. angle; they join with a snap catch ratchet at the ends of the handles; the outer edges of the handles have a molded, ridged grip; the two pieces join together with a box-lock joint at the top of the handles; the tips taper down to a blunted point above the joint; the right side of the inner tip has four vertical grooves with an 'x' at the end of the point; tension is divided by (c) a flat piece of metal which joins the handles and is slightly curved; a pivot and slot system between the handles is bent into a curve which provides tension on the handles when they are closed
