Castroviejo eye speculum, which consists of a V-shaped instrument with two curved arms joined to, and moved by, a central cylindrical adjustment screw; there are two flat support struts at the top of the adjustment screw that attach about halfway up the arms; the tips of the arms have sideways U-shaped wires with the bottom of the "U" facing inwards and with open centres; the arms move outwards or inwards when the adjustment screw is turned: counterclockwise for outwards movement.
