Hemacytometer in case which consists of (a) the case and cell counting pipettes; the case is made of rectangular-shaped plastic with a lid that is hinged at the back to the bottom, and a clasp at the front; the inside of the lid has two glass pipettes: a red cell counting pipette and a white cell counting pipette; both pipettes are cylindrical with tapered tips and a bulbous hollow section in the centre; the inside bottom of the case is molded to hold various parts of the set; the set contains three glass containers (b,d,f); all these containers are cylindrical and hollow with flat, closed bottoms and open tops with threading on the upper outer edges; all containers have printed information on the outer front edges; all of the containers have plastic lids (c,e,g); the caps are all round with a flat, closed top and threaded inner edges; the caps fit onto and over the containers; the caps are (c) white, (e) red and (g) green; the green cap has a metal lancet attached to its inner edge; the lancet is solid and cylindrical with a short, sharp tip at the end; the kit also contains two glass slides (h,i); both slides are made of flat, clear, rectangular-shaped glass with a frosted section at one side; there are also cover slides, stored in a cardboard box; the box consists of a top (j) and bottom (k); the top is rectangular in shape with a closed top, bottom and upper and lower sides; the right and left sides are open and allow the bottom to be slid in and out; the bottom (k) is rectangular with a closed bottom and four sides and an open top; the bottom is lined with cotton; the box contains two paper envelopes (l,m); both envelopes consist of a square of paper with four rounded flaps; each envelope contains two cover glasses (n,o) and (p,q); all cover glasses are made of very thin, square clear glass; the cover glasses sit inside the envelopes and the flaps fold over and cover them; the front of the envelopes have printed information on them; the kit also contains a white mouthpiece with tubing (r); this consists of a hollow cylindrical piece of plastic with open ends and with a flared, rounded lip; the other end of the mouthpiece has an attached length of rubber tubing; there is a red mouthpiece (s) with tubing as well; this consists of a hollow cylindrical piece of glass with open ends and a flared lip; the other end of the mouthpiece has an attached length of rubber tubing; the kit also contains an information sheet (t); this consists of a small piece of printed paper that has been folded three times; the kit also has two small rolls of cotton with a paper cover (not numbered); all pieces of the kit are stored in the plastic case (a), which in turn is stored in a grey cloth bag (u); the bag is rectangular in shape and closed on all sides except the top; this opens and closes with a drawstring.

APPL'D FOR // MADE IN U.S.A." in the plastic; the outer right edge of the case has an attached paper label that reads, "B.N. Kropp - personal"; the pipettes have increment lines and read "BARD-PARKER 8874 // 0.5 // 11" (white cell counting pipette) and "BARD-PARKER 9866 // 0.5 // 101" (red cell counting pipette); (b) the front of the container reads, "WHITE CELL // 2% ACETIC ACID"; (d) the front of the container reads, "RED CELL // HAYEM'S SOLUTION // OR // NORMAL SALINE"; (f) the front of the container reads, "B-P // GERMICIDE"; (g) the lancet has the words, "BARD-PARKER" stamped into the metal; (j) the outer top of the box top reads, "COVER GLASS // BARD-PARKER COMPANY, Inc. // DANBURY, CONN."; (l,m) both envelopes read, "NAME // BARD-PARKER CO. // INC. // DANBURY, CONN."; (t) the information sheet reads, "BARD-PARKER C.F. Condition Remarks
All glass and plastic parts are complete and undamaged; the paper is complete and fully legible; the rubber is complete; the tubing on the white mouthpiece is flexible, but the tubing on the red mouthpiece is starting to harden; the metal parts show minor wear and corrosion.
