Inscriptions
Label on ampoule reads, "1 cc. size No. 25 // IRON CITRATE // (GREEN) // 0.05 Gm (3/4 gr.) // C709938 // Parke, Davis & Co."
It is usually taken orally in tablet form, but can be injected. Used for patients undergoing dialysis, in order to decrease phosphate levels in the body (lowers serum and urine phosphate levels). It binds phosphate in digestive system and excretes them in feces. Reduced phosphate levels maintains strong bones and decreases risks of heart disease and stroke.
