Separatory funnel consists of a hollow, glass, pear-shaped funnel, topped with a cylindrical glass neck at the wide end, and tapering to form a round, glass tube at the bottom narrow end; the neck is frosted glass, and has a closed, round lip; the glass tube and the narrow part of the funnel are joined by a horizontal, hollow cylindrical stopcock housing; the bottom portion of the tube is frosted, and its tip is smooth and flat, with a round hole.
On the outer surface of the pear-shapeed component, near its top, "T ["S" overwritten] // 27 // KIMAX // USA // [closed, filled-in hexagon figure]" appears in frosted white glass lettering; on one side of the outer surface of the stopcock housing "PYREX® // S P [the "P" superscripted] // 4" appears in blue transferred letters, and on the opposite side it reads, "No. // 7282" in blue transferred letters.

Condition Remarks
The inner and outer surfaces of the separatory funnel were dusty, and partially covered by a hard, white film, possibly water deposits; the inner and outer surfaces of the stopcock housing were dirty; there were no scratches, breaks or cracks.
