Campbell's cotton waste receptacle, which consists of an outer container (a), an inner glass container (b) and a lid (c); the outer container is cylindrical, with a heavy, closed, flared base, smooth, straight sides and a round opening at the top; the bottom surface of this base is made of iron; there are two L-shaped grooves cut into the sides near the top opening; the inner glass container (b) fits into the outer container; it is cylindrical, with a closed, flat bottom, smooth, straight sides and a round opening at the top; the lid fits over the top opening of the outer container; it is convex and round, with a wide, round bottom opening with a round closed lip, and a top circular opening with six squared notches around its edges; two round metal pegs extend from opposite inner sides of the lid's bottom rim.

Condition Remarks
The glass component was in excellent condition, with only a few small deposits on its surfaces, and no chips or breaks; the outer container and lid showed moderate signs of corrosion on their surfaces; the bottom surface of the outer container's base is iron, and had brown rust stains.
