At this time (1932-1937) Ms. Valleau worked in Kingston as a private duty nurse; this was a period of high unemployment in the country; Anne Baillie was Superintendent of Nurses from 1924-1942 (18 years), and R. Fraser Armstrong was Superintendent of Kingston General Hospital from 1925-1957.
