#2: The top support band shows signs of deterioration; surface particles flake away when handled; the buckle traps show similar deterioration; one leather band securing one of the buckles had broken, and a piece 2.5 cm x 1.0 cm was found in one of the bags; the brass buckles showed no signs of corrosion; the paper labels on the bottles were yellowing; the stopper for bottle (g) was missing; bottle (e) had several cracks in the neck, the longest approximately 4.0 cm long; the stopper also appeared cracked; all bottles were empty except (d), which held a yellow fluid with brown sediment; bottle (f) had a cork in place of a stopper; bottle (j) had a crack in the neck 4.0 cm long and the label is missing; the flannel lining was moderately worn; all bottles were dusty and had traces of residue; #3: returned from loan, condition largely unchanged; band and buckles still deteriorating.
