Condition Remarks
The pans showed no signs of corrosion, and only minor signs of wear, including a patterned imprint on the underside of one pan and a green line on the top of the other pan, where the cord came in contact with it; the cords were slightly frayed where they enter the holes in the pans; the support bar was moderately worn, and on one side there were five patches of previously active corrosion (0.5 cm x 0.1 cm, 0.5 cm x 0.3 cm, 1.0 cm x 0.4 cm, 0.1 cm x 0.5 cm and 0.8 cm x 0.6 cm); there were two patches on the opposite side of the bar, 0.2 cm x 0.2 cm and 0.6 cm x 0.1 cm; the middle suspension attachment moves freely; the weights all show signs of wear; piece (j) has developed a green patina within the engraved figure; there was a notch in the edge of stone weight (g); the box was in good condition; the nails in the lower portion and the hinges had traces of corrosion; the bottom of the box was slightly warped (concave); there were marks on top of the lid from the latch; the green inner lining was frayed around the edges and there was a worn patch in the front proper right corner, approximately 1.0 cm in diameter; there was a yellow-brown deposit on the lining, probably adhesive from a previous repair; there was a splinter in the wood in the interior of the box in the proper left back corner; #3: returned from loan condition unchanged.
