A small booklet, rectangular in shape, 32 pages and a front and back cover; the cover is illustrated with five scenes, four of which are hunting scenes and the fifth is a scene in the Orient with three men speaking in front of a tent by the fireside; there is also the illustration of a skeleton key; the booklet's primary use is as an almanac with jokes, calendars, times for sunrise and sunset, and phases of the moon; included also are advertisements, testimonials and claims advertisements for the company's products, especially Burdock's Blood Bitters; there is a small fabric cord hanging from a small hole in the upper left hand corner through a small hole in the booklet.
Printed on front cover in black ink: "BURDOCK // BLOOD // Bitters // ALMANAC // AND // KEY TO // HEALTH / 1887 // T. MILBURN & CO TORONTO ONT."; printed on back in black on a yellow background surrounded by a rustic country scene including a windmill and a carriage crossing and bridge, "THE COMPLIMENTS // OF THE SEASON. // I have pleasure in presenting you with // a new and attractive Almanac for 1887, // containing many useful suggestions. With // grateful acknowledgements to my patrons for past favours, I would add that my present // stock is carefully assorted and complete to // satisfy the requirements of all, in choice // goods and at right prices.
