Sept 2022: slight losses to paint on mount, especially either side of tongue, possibly from previous tape adhesion; paper label browning, metal tacks slightly rusting; wax model slightly loose and coming away from painted fabric that was securing it to the mount
Sept 2022: use caution when handling, keep flat as wax model is loose, not suitable for handling or transportation outside of the museum.

Louis Niclet (1867–1924) was made official modeller at the Hôpital St.-Louis following the death of Jules Barretta in 1923. Niclet made 480 moulages in his career, all with great attention to detail.
