A brown leather case (r), formed and with squarish corners; carrying strap; top opens to reveal a compartment for a sterilizer (a); the front falls open (held by side straps) to reveal a divided compartment for packaged dressings (f-i,k,m,n,o-q), boxed syringes (j,m), boxes of needles (d,l); also included: a chrome box for holding instruments during sterilization (b); a roll of cotton wool in a torn brown paper wrapping (c); a rubber tourniquet with two plastic buttons (e).

Research Facts
According to Col. Barnard, "The kit was picked up in Italy during WW II by the late Brigadier R. S. Malone."
Brigadier Richard Sankey Malone (1909-1985) worked on the Winnipeg Free Press, established "The Maple Leaf" newspaper for the Canadian forces in Europe. Fought and was wounded at Sicily, in Italy.
